Tea bowls, or chawan- when used in Japanese Chanoyu tea ceremony, are meant to hold whisked green tea called matcha. After whisking the green tea powder with hot water, drink matcha directly from the bowl.
Hand built and covered in a glossy black glaze- similar to the surface found on Raku-style hikidashi bowls . Made of speckled brown stoneware and fired to 2232°F/1220°C. Dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
