Tea bowls, or chawan- when used in Japanese Chanoyu tea ceremony, are meant to hold whisked green tea called matcha. After whisking the green tea powder with hot water, drink matcha directly from the bowl.
Thrown on the wheel with black iron glaze. Made of speckled stoneware and fired to 2232°F/1220°C. Glaze is dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
